I, like many, am a wanna-be writer. I, like many, struggle with "scheduling" writing time, and completing novels. I, like many, am unpublished (with the exception of this blog), and would like to have an outlet the I can just release my writings.
I have attempted to write 2 full novels in the past. The first was posted here on this blog as I wrote it (previously named "Book In 55 Days,") and I only reached the halfway point of my writing goal. Although I didn't finish, I accomplished what I needed to: a starting point, and a lesson. I learned many things with that first messy half-novel, that I would never learn in a textbook.
The second novel I've attempted was completed! I reached my goal of 50,000 words during NaNoWriMo of 2011. This book is currently sitting in my hardrive, awaiting a rewrite that will probably never happen. Again, you learn some, and you lose some. In both cases, I learned much more than I lost, and although I mourn for my buried half-books, I know they are just practices.
Along with those two novels, I don't do much other writing. I do a little for school (currently still in high school!). I'll occasionally become inspired to write a poem or song. But I don't have a constant stream of awesome-thought running through my head to write, and I would really like to get better at it. I enjoy the process enough to chip away at it, little by little.
So, in other words, the goal for this blog is plain and simple. I want a place where I can collect my miscellaneous writings, without organization or theme. A place to practice - to learn and lose. And maybe someday I'll get to that point that every writer dreams of; writing for fun.
